I thought that Intel intended it for all advanced "32-bit BUS" systems
and that no newer systems have real 8259.
I know Compaq gave a high speed timer setup on their newer 32-bit bus 486 machines.
Perhaps they were playing with the idea of a faster and more advanced PIC.
I wonder if it is the APIC that throws off the timing of some Klik&Play games.
Big Monstro, are you saying that Winplay3 makes use of APIC features?
Is the AudioPCI "clicking noise" gone now?
