As title states. I try to access the 32mb smart media card in adapter (only thing that works on this laptop) and it says it needs to be formatted, but I get a divide by zero error every time. Reinstalling is not an option as I have no floppy drive.

Does it work from DOS?

Claims to but doesn't. I get a general failure reading drive error.

That makes me wonder if the card itself is failing...
  • Windows can't read it, asks to format it;
  • Windows tries to format it, gets invalid data from card, doesn't validate and divides by zero;
  • DOS tries to read it and fails; bails out.
I assume that the error you mentioned appears after trying to format it from DOS?

No, error on DOS isafter trying to read card. Card works fine on everything else.
