Hello!
I am working on a updated version of Windows 3.1, 3.3!

Why 3.3?
There already is a Windows version named Windows 3.2, exclusive to China!

Why update 3.1?
I just like to.

How do I help?
You simply DM me on Discord to request help (proto boi#2086)

So, that Windows "3.3" is basically just Windows 3.1x + some existing programs... you can obtain the exact same result by installing a regular Windows 3.1x and, then, installing these apps and patches.

In the past, many people made their Windows "distributions" but the vast majority of them were pointless. Virtually all people prefer an official version and install the programs they want.

That project would be much more interesting if there are actual improvements, such as an unofficial kernel upgrade to enhance hardware or software compatibility.

Like a better Win32 support.

Kernal extensions is coming too... i am trying to work on such things. I am planning to bring a Windows Update somehow so that security can be added. 3.3 is trying to be a 3.1 people can use today!

this is acutaly how Windows 95 works is basicly a souped up win32s called win32c (C for compatibility) and a modified kernel for accommodate the missing things that 16bit windows have

i tried to port win32c to windows 3.11 FWG and i have seen it will require such modifications that it will have ended up to just remake windows 95  + the really long time to decomp windows 3.1 (SM64 took 2 to 4 years so imagine a entire operating system)

The author doesn't log on since Sept 2021. I think that this topic is in the good place "Abandoned projects"
